The United States Triathlon Association has named the 2009 Wilkes-Barre Triathlon a Special Qualifier for the 2009 Age Group Nationals to be held in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on August 22nd, 2009. The 2009 Special Qualifier race will qualify the top 33% or top 5 people (whichever is greater) per age group for the 2009 Age Group Nationals. |

We are very
pleased and quite proud that we have been able to host this event
for the past 27 years. During that time, we have been extremely
fortunate to have over 10,000 participants, very generous sponsors
and countless dedicated volunteers who have donated their time and
energy to make this one of the world's best triathlons. There is a vast amount of information within the framework of this website. The main menu, which is located across the top from left to right, denotes the major areas of interest. Registration for our event is handled by Lin-Mark Computer Sports, and is now open.Entrants who register after July 15, 2009, will not be guaranteed a t-shirt. Please register before July 15, 2009 to avoid any discrepancies. Also, any triathlete who wishes to stay in one of our local hotels are reminded to make your reservations early. There is a NASCAR race at The Pocono International Speedway on the same day, and hotel rooms will be scarce as the race date comes closer. of The Wilkes Barre Triathlon. Our next event, which is one of the
longest running triathlons in the United States, will be held on
Sunday, August 2, 2009.
